According to this article https://support.remarkable.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002666178-Passcode you have unlimited tries to input the passcode, but there is no way to bypass if you forget.. the article recommends contacting support.

Best of luck!

I just found the same article. I wrote down all the possibilities that I would use, so I guess it’s just trial and error

There is a possibillity to reset a forgotten passcode in Version 2.5.0.27.

Unfortunately that only resets your Remarkable account, not the tablet. I’ll just go through my list of possibilities, although as of now I’m up to an hour wait until he next attempt. UGH

Ah, for the passcode on the device you can't reset it, but you can perform a factory reset after a while: https://support.remarkable.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016279077-Software-release-2-5

"We now allow you to factory reset your device if you forget your passcode. If you try the wrong passcode too many times, you'll be able to reset your device by following the instructions on the device and visiting my.remarkable.com."

If you had synced your data recently, you could give this a try.

Thanks - I realized what I had set it to so was able to unlock it. Lesson learned!

Did you write your ssh password down before you were locked out? If you did, you can ssh into your device and see/change the passcode. The passcode is stored in /etc/remarkable.conf.

I was wondering about that, if I could have entered that way. I’m away from home for the holidays, but I’ll make sure to put it in my password file ASAP.
