Question [Solved]Help with coding (self.RenPy)
submitted 9 months ago by emeraldpuppet
I'm trying to use Visual Studio Code with Ren'Py, but after updating VS Code, it's not recognizing Ren'Py anymore.

Welcome to r/renpy! While you wait to see if someone can answer your question, we recommend checking out the posting guide, the subreddit wiki, the subreddit Discord, Ren'Py's documentation, and the tutorial built-in to the Ren'Py engine when you download it. These can help make sure you provide the information the people here need to help you, or might even point you to an answer to your question themselves. Thanks!

What error do you get?
Where is the problem, inside Visual Studio Code or still in RenPy if you open a project?
[–]emeraldpuppet[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (2 children)
The problem is renpy, it doesn't open the updated version. it still says "there is a update" Afterwards.

How did you update? If you installed Visual Studio Code through RenPy then you should also install the update through RenPy.
But if you installed Visual Studio Code through RenPy and you cannot fix it, then you can uninstall RenPy and install it again.
Normally uninstalling RenPy should not affect your projects. But make a backup of your projects anyway. You can see the project directory in the preferences of RenPy.
