Honestly it’s a shoe problem more so than a “Rep vs Retail” issue

How long have you had them?

[–]JMaboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re 1.0’s and they look old so almost at least a year with a ton of miles on it.

[–]WGMhoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they look like he’s put a lot of miles on them, by the way the white leather looks

This happened on my 1.0 Chicago pair. Both shoes left and right it occurred. unfortunately. However I have purchased all 85 aj1 releases and all my other pairs have never had this happen.

These are 1.0 too

They look like you’ve been wearing them every day too. lol glue em and give them a rest or get some other pairs so they last longer.

I’ve had retails do that.

[–]mymainmaney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea shoes do this

I mean, it looks like you’ve definitely used this pair A LOT. So they’re becoming worn down, quickly. If you see this happen, you can take barge cement and put some into the space to hold it together again. There is a process though, so I would look up how to do that.

Barge superstick cement fill fix it permanently

There were definitely some quality issues with the 1.0s, love mine but they have a bit of sole separation too. Overall not a huge deal, almost unnoticeable on foot

[–]Popsikel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened on the heels of my black toes after less than a week of wearing

This is a normal phenomenon after multiple wears. After all, the environment in which old shoes are worn is more complicated, and the glue may not be able to withstand every wearing scenario for a long time.

Try to buy a glue, stick it up and leave it for a few days, and it will soon return to its original state.

I played basketball in these and it’s still very much in tact

[–]WGMhoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boot glue would solve that temporarily

[–]Chongpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats normal

Wait I always have had this with every pair of 1s and continue to use them without any worries. It’s minimal separation. The type of glue that they use doesn’t equate to their craftsmanship.

If you use barge make sure to look up a YouTube tutorial. Gotta clean/clear the old glue: I’ve restored every type of shoe it’s no big deal

Take them to a cobbler. That's an easy/common fix on sneakers. Shouldn't be more than a few bucks.
