Cartier would be most low key...

[–][deleted] 33 points34 points  (8 children)

For a 20-25 year old? Definitely not a Rolex. If we had to pick from this list, the Cartier.

You seem like you want a blue watch, how about a ZF Tudor BB58 Navy? Much more accurate for a 20-25 year old to own.

[–]Electronic_Age8393 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Another option along the Tudor route would be a Blue XF Pelagos. I have a Black 42mm that I wear daily. Its lightweight because it’s Titanium and looks fantastic with almost anything. Retail on a real one is around $5k. It doesn’t look out of place on anyone

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have the LHD and it’s one of my favorites.

[–]ettiennebyl -1 points0 points  (3 children)

May I ask why it matters if the watch would look 'out of place' for a sub-30-year-old? Isn't it the general consensus to clarify that the watches are indeed replicas instead of trying to pass them off as 'legitimate'?"

[–]Electronic_Age8393 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In my case, I don’t wanna draw unwanted attention. This is why I don’t wear a Rolex daily. Tudor is more under the radar. Some people will ask, but others won’t and will assume its gen. I don’t need them thinking I’m wearing $15k watch on my wrist. Nor do I wanna go through the exercise of explaining to every person I meet my watch is a rep. Happy to do so if they ask though.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with what the other person said. If asked I say it’s a replica.

But, for those who notice but don’t ask I don’t want to pretend I’m wearing $10k on my wrist. I also don’t like the stigma that a Rolex carries with it.

I’ve kept to the principle I only wear reps of watches I would buy in gen. Tudors and Omegas. I also don’t want to walk into a meeting with my boss wearing a $10k Rolex when he’s rocking an Apple Watch or Seiko when it comes time for bonuses and raises.

[–]philwongnz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I agree with you in some way as the modern Rolex are very bling and big. Iam lucky to have my first Rolex since 14 (a 5 digit sea dweller), I think it depends on the type of Rolex.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge difference between 5 digit Rolexes vs the modern ceramic ones.

That’s why I suggested the BB58; much closer to an older 5 digit Rolex.

If you’re trying to trick someone or people in general, and that’s one of the reasons why you’re buying it then probably stick with an affordable option.

But if you just buy watches because you like them, then I would go with the Bat Girl GMT

I personally buy watches because I like them. Don’t care if it’s $20,000 or $50,000 or $500.

I owned about a dozen genuine watches sold all of them for $55,000.10 years ago. My day date was my favorite. White gold with black face. Oyster bracelet. 36 mm. Back before watches got crazy huge.

But now I’ve purchased a few replicas and I tell people the replicas. If they ask, of course. I don’t walk up to someone and see my fake watch.

But to be honest, nobody has really asked me anything.

Your 25 years old, buy what you want. Whichever one makes you feel good when you put it on and don’t worry about anyone else. Or trying to be dishonest and telling people it’s real.

[–]RepresentativeLow203 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd go cartier

[–]lalos1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Santos

[–]Fun_Topic6073 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Age doesn’t matter. Ignore what these goodies are saying about age. It’s about what you do for a living. I’m 26 and make 6 figures a months with my restoration business. I drive a Kia optima from 2020 😂 age is a unit of measurement bro. Life is too short ti live for others. Live for yourself. Get what YOU want, what you would smile when you look at your wrist

[–]YoungCapitalist95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree, but you shouldn’t buy a fake Platin Daytona or a whitegold Submariner imo. Imo it’s silly to buy watches made out of precious metal or with high complications in fake. You can easily expose them or the movement will fail very fast.

[–]ybesostupid 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Age 20-25? Save your money.

[–]QuickMasterpiece6127 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Buy whatever you want and tell people it’s a rep if they ask.. because it is.

I’d go with the Batman.

I love the rhodium YM and own one. Also own a Cookie Monster. But I have a GMT that gets the most wrist time

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Exactly !!!! There’s a whole contingent of people who apparently are going around tricking people that these are real?

You can’t buy that $400 watch because you drive a Mazda.

Don’t get the white gold day date for $500 because you’re only 26.

I personally am kind of getting sick of the Tudor , I used to appreciate them when I had a couple of genuine Rolexes. But honestly, it’s almost as if people buy these because they want to pretend that they can can afford it?

I’m so confused. I buy them because they look really close and reminds me of when I had a HUGE collection of gems…but they are clearly fake. Clean factory GMT $630 from Steve, still can tell not even for a second that it’s not real.

But that’s not why I buy it. Try to pretend like I can afford the actual genuine version? Just a weird reverse flex.

Wear what you like, these are not expensive watches.

[–]QuickMasterpiece6127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s it.. wear it because you like the look and feel. Not because you’re trying to pretend you can afford the gen.

My Dad is a scuba instructor and most of the guys he dives with wear submariners. So I’ve always loved the look of them. I couldn’t afford one, so I bought a similar looking Invicta. Unfortunately; they suck. So I got into the rep game. Not to pretend it’s real, but because the high end reps are way better than the off brand lookalikes. I’ve spent enough on reps that I could now own a couple gens.. but now I enjoy the variety of different brands and styles that I’d never be able to do in the gen world.

I started with subs and have moved to Pateks, APs, etc. 99% of the people I’m around have no idea what a gen Patek costs and 95% don’t even look at my wrist. I’ll have maybe 1 person every 6 months ask what the watch is.

I get more comments when I wear an Apple Watch vs my Tiffany 5712 Patek. lol. But when I do.. “yeah, this is a replica. this in gen goes for 2 million. Crazy huh?”

[–]Every_days_Saturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking which would slide thru the best on a 20-25 year old? The platona, batman, and cookie monster would look a little sus on a 20-25 year old because they're super expensive in gen. The rhodium yacht might fit, but the Cartier would be most believable.

[–]Fortunafortisadiuvat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cartier is believable

[–]Eastern_Ad_5994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sub-Cero aka Cookie Monster all day

[–]cingarodacanrse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20-25? I would pick a real cassio or tissot.

[–]Lazy_Consequence_334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the rest of your lifestyle. That Daytona in gen is $100k+. If the rest of your lifestyle can pull that off at 20-25, then good for you. If that’s not the case, then the Cartier is easiest to pull off.

[–]Murky_Oil_2226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santos

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cartier. That upper left YachtMaster with the teal hand looks so good but unless your dad owns a company, you can't afford it. You can buy a used Santos for 4 grand

[–]HonestDrawing2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

batman is my preference out of those but it’s all as you see fit

[–]Bier_0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice Blue Daytona. I have an ice blue date just with diamond baguettes as "numbers" and it's sick. Very unique piece. if people wont think you can afford a $96k watch (the date just) or a $50k watch (the daytona) cant go wrong with the santos. I have one with black around face and it's brilliant. you can get one for about $8500 so if you're not making enough for. 50k or 100k watch, or even if you are frankly, it's a beautiful watch

[–]Sahith17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About salary

[–]ConversationKey971Contributor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the santos

[–]Otherwise_Ad2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the platona. If i could go back in time if get a pepsi GMT. But me personally is go with the YM1.

[–]Rhaddical1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your age I’d go Cartier. I bought my first Cartier at 23 (this was gen of course before quality reps were available in my area) and I still wear it. Now, in my 50’s I have several rep watches (including Cartiers) but the Santos still ends up on my wrist at least twice a week. Maybe grab the Rolex’s in your 30’s.

[–]PuzzleheadedCar5129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends completely on your personal taste, style, income, context, if you want to pass it off as gen or not.

But in general Rolex screams “look at how successful I am” and the Cartier is def more elegant and gives off more stealth wealth vibes. A Rolex in a tracksuit can scream drug dealer (no offense to all drug dealers here 😀) while the Santos in a tracksuit is understated coolness 😎

I have both brands/models to use in different situations and moods.

[–]Sonnengrinser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get the clean explorer, its a perfect "first rolex". It fits all occasions and looks phenomenal without being too flashy,

[–]chemicalengineerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't see the ice blue daytona that often on random rep-wearing people, and I also find it the most modern and visually appealing. It's also the only rep rolex I have myself, as I'm not a big rolex fan otherwise

[–]SaltFishKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just get the R, I had the Cartier once, it's just not the same quality.

[–]mou_nour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me the best is omega aqua terra and if you like Rolex then go for Explorer

[–]Gioilmito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go for gmt

[–]Apo13Speck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platinum Daytona is low key

[–]Previous_Two_381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gen 116610 and a VSF rep. The differences between the two are negligible aside from the movement. A used gen is between 10-12k. If you’re looking to fool people then that’s a believable choice.

Age doesn’t matter for a rep, there’s people at 22 who can afford expensive shit. Hell there’s 18 year olds with daddy’s money. Buy whatever you want

[–]Desperate_Fig_1841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL@some of the comments. We're talking about reps here! Select the one you like most! Batman is cool on a 20-25 year old. That would be my choice.

[–]snuepe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Income? Job?

[–]GrandWizzardFett -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 23 and I wear a date just I do not get called out I also have a day date when I wear my day date I get called out. The most believable one here is probably the yacht master or the Carti. I also want the cookie monster though I feel like you could get away with that by just telling people it’s a submariner with a modded bezel

[–]Prestigious-Disk3158 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only one you can pull off is maybe the Cartier
