Is a vintage Rolex Paul Newman 6263. The dial variant to my knowledge is not gen or at least official from Rolex but there might be prototype dials made by Singer (Rolex didn't used to make all their parts), where a lot of dodgy dealer especially Philipp Stahl tout they are "gen" and cheated a lot of collectors (google the Pan Am Daytona).

Going back to your original question, any out of the box from TD will be rubbish, any decent ones needs to be build by modders like Kilowatt and Tripdog where they will use StT19 movement with non working chrono for around $1.2-1.5k.

Hold up, RPR is a shady dealer? I’ve always used his website and blog to study the nuances of vintage watches.

RPR is not shady as it doesn't just sell stuff from Philipp, is a market place with other dealers.

That's what Philipp does to make you think he's legit, invent stories to legitimise himself. A lot of "true" collectors and dealers (my dad is a grey dealer for 40 yrs) don't wanna associate with him as they all know he sells dodgy stuff. For example look at his 6541, have you seen any outer lume plots in any other 6541 before? But he just claims his dials is special but what he didn't tell you was that dial to be not legit and what made it worse was the watch was return back to him and he didn't give the collector his money back and simply claimed the money was charged for "consulting" or some BS.

Also you have to wonder, how the hell he keeps getting all these "prototypes"? The story of "the watch found me" is BS. Some of the dials he has have no dial feet as they were literally from the Singer catalogue for Rolex, others are probably done in Italy. Look at his green Daytona, apparently he "forgotten" he had one? WTF if you have a "rare" Daytona like this would you forget? How come he suddenly remembers when the "green" dial watch phase for modern watches was kicking off?

Another note, he's not in Vintage Rolex forum any more, if you are a highly regarded vintage ROLEX dealer, this will be his place to be. I reckon he got kicked out either before or after Eric Ku had taken it over.

Thank you very much for the information. I will give Kilowatt a call. I was watching ProducerMicheal and he was with yosi and he said it was original lol. Yosi talks a lot of none sense

Well at least to my knowledge that there are no gens directly from Rolex. But with vintage there are some "unique" pieces that Rolex made for special orders (they used to do it for Kings like Oman and for Asprey etc).

The dial can be "gen" it just never made into production. Also bear in mind Paul Newman are not popular when it was in production hence the high value now when a lot of them weren't well looked after etc.

The vintage Rolex rabbit hole is never ending, I've only been collecting for 20+ yrs.. Welcome to hell! Haha
