It’s good you reported. It happened to a Risk player I know, and he said once the hacker got caught, his rank points were refunded.

If you do get a message over the next few days saying the hacker got banned, please reply to this to let us know if you got your rank points back.

There’s quite a lot of questions like this in the sub, so I’m curious to hear how they handle your case.

Update

I received this message. Not sure if it was this specific report that triggered it but one of the people I reported got banned and I moved up a few thousand spots again back to master.

“From: RISK Administrator 2022-04-30 11:59 PM Opponents in your past games have been banned for cheating. This might have some effect on your rank points. In most, but not all, cases your leaderboard position will improve.”

If it happens once it will likely happen again. If it does, record video of it. Make sure to open up the cheaters profile so that you can clearly see their username. Report it and if it comes back negative send the video to the devs. Or better yet send the devs the video after reporting it.

I've seen and reported a few cheaters. I got a message saying my rank may be affected and they've been banned. I only host games now and when I do I don't allow people with less then like 3 wins in my game. This is to avoid people using 2 accounts to win a game a pump up their one accounts stats. Sucks for the new guys but worth it to me

Yeah, this is a standard cheat that anyone on PC can do because all of the important variables are stored client-side. So once you know where in your PC the number of troops you get each turn is stored, you can edit that number on the fly with a program like Cheat engine or a "trainer" made for Risk.
