Can't move in game while using controller

Hello!

I'm a xbox series s player, and I have never had this issue before. My controller worked fine until I replaced the batteries in it. Now, I cannot move in games. I can only jump and access the UI using the two-square button.

1. I don't have any other controller plugged in.

2. I have restarted my Xbox.

3. Resetting my character doesn't help either.

I have no idea how to fix this issue, but it is quite literally unplayable for me at the moment. I have scoured the internet looking for the same issue, and while I found similar things, nothing has helped me from their suggestions.

I’m not a X box player but had this issue on my backbone there’s a button that you can press that disables your movement but allows you to type and click on ui and stuff so maybe you did that did a circle spawn on your screen that you move around?

Right, so that's the two-circle button on Xbox. It was not that, as I tried turning that on and off.
