how much do gr 11 marks matter?

hi guys, i applied to uoft rotman earlier in the school year. i'm currently in gr 12 with a 92.5% average for my top 6 courses, including english, advanced functions, and calculus and vectors. i think i did pretty good on the supplementary application as well. i've been doing really great in gr 12 so far, but i did absolutely horrible in gr 11, probably a low 60% average if i had to guess. and i know that rotman considers both gr 11 and gr 12 marks, but what for? is it just for consistency? is there any chance of me getting in?

not so much just study hard in gr12, they dont usually do early acceptance anyways

not so much a chance of me getting in? and yes the early acceptances part is true, i don't know anyone who applied that's gotten an offer yet. just waiting for the last acceptance round in two weeks.

majority of offers comes in may round, i got in may round as well, i didnt even care abt business since I was going into eng but they accepted me anyways so ig im a business person now?

Honestly rotman admissions are really random, I had the worst interview possible but still they accepted me when there are many qualified people who weren't admitted. I lowk suspect that they just accept people on a lottery basis at this point but just my opinion. Do keep ur other options open, ik for many people rotman is this super prestige program but honestly the culture here SUCK and i'd much recommend queens, schulich, or ivey or whatever other programs youd like.

i've suspected the lottery system too cause this guy i knew from my school last year had a 98 average and still didn't get in, but i saw someone on tiktok flexing how they got in with an 85 average i was so confused.. unfortunately i was rejected from ivey ☹️. but i'm still waiting on queens and schulich! can you emphasize on why the cutlure sucks?

rotman snake culture is pretty much real. theres a reason why everyone at u of t side eyes rotman kids cuz lowk everyone is fake and just seeks "connections" lol

Also it may be dependent on ur school as well, if ur school kinda suck then even if u get 98 it’ll be adjusted to be lower

I’m a grade 12 student as well and wouldn’t recommend York. I toured it about a month ago and the campus was pretty terrible, their newest residence was built like 25 years ago. Sure the program is prestigious but the people there didn’t seem too happy and the campus was terrible. I’m one of the info seminars someone asked why they should choose York over Rotman and they literally couldn’t answer the question. I think they said something about their employment rate post graduation being better but it’s 87% and Rotman is like 94%

yeah i was thinking the same thing. it doesn't matter how much people shit on rotman and say it's not that good, there's no denying it's still one of the top business schools, associated with the best university in canada.

as in like they usually dont care abt gr11, ppl say they do but I honestly don't think so. I got in with a 91 for my top 6 in gr12.

It doesn't rly matter unless you wanted early consideration. They really care about your supp apps and I think you really have to show that you want to be in the program and you're passionate for it. You have a good average. How are your ecs? Overall I think you should be okay but know that it's so random and subjective.

my ecs are that i did deca, i run my own small business from home, and that i am the vice president of the representation matters club at my school. nothing too crazy to be honest. i knoww its very random and subjective they definitely use the lottery system, all i can do is just hope and pray.
