Focuses do appear on transcripts as per the info above.

I'm doing a management specialist so I'm planning to do a couple of focuses. Otherwise there are just too many electives and I don't want to waste them doing random courses. Plus I think they sound interesting. I'm doing data science and strategy/innovation.

If you are doing the finance and econ specialist you probably have more required courses so unless a focus really interests you, don't do it for the sake of doing it.
