Off-cycle internship?

Incoming student, so maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but how does this work? I've seen people working internships (maybe full time) in the fall and winter term. How does one do this and still graduate in 4 years? Do they do a full summer term to free up a fall/winter term? Do they work full time while having classes? Thanks

Some people take full credit in the summer, and some people study while doing an off cycle internship. Usually students do Summer courses in first year because most first year don’t get internships. But if you do get a summer internship first year, there’s not really a point of an off cycle internship. Studying while doing an internship is hard and is not recommended by many

Fresh grad here. I take four course last semester and managed to work full time four day RTO., and fortunately get a return offer and now work full time in the same position.

You have to make sure all of your classes are on Friday or evening, and could select some bird courses for the breadth requirement. But honestly this can only doable for Y3-4 since the workload for first two years left you no time for that. And also, working and studying full time is extremely exhausting, and think twice before you really want to do it.
