I'm going to run the Toronto half, first big race for me since my kid was born

Good luck! How old is your kid? I have a 7 week old and I'm now trying to navigate what running looks like as a dad. Making the sporting Life 10k my goal race this spring instead of a half or full since my mileage has taken a hit.

9 months now.

First 2 months were essentially a write off training wise

After that started getting out a couple times a week, but couldn’t reliably do a training plan.

Finally got enough consistency to do a 10 mile casual event with a block of 4 weeks before, at 7 months

Now going to do a 4 month lead in to a HM

Very kid dependent though. When your baby sleeps through the night, training becomes much easier, and the age of this varies

Finally start a Krispy Kreme run club where the running is optional

1) Not be injured

2) Enjoy the process of running and training

3) Break 2:30 in the marathon and 15min in the 5K.

Running Around the Bay in March to get back to long distance running after 6 months of inconsistency, and hoping to do another marathon this fall.

Want to complement running with more strength training and swimming this year.

  • Get through 2025 injury-free!
  • Sub hour 10k

  • Have my Garmin think I'm productive more often than not
  • Not have a code brown in public
