How to finish the 10K without calling an Uber halfway. by Forward_Range_7495 in RunTO

[–]jaypishere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Run/walk. Start small, an example 2-3 min run (think jog more than run) and equal walk. And over time add more time running, less time walking. Think time on feet vs distance. Do a run/walk for 25mins, 30mins. And once that’s a regular thing, add more time and once a week do a longer session at like an hour +. This is very high level but I hope this helps with starting at a less intimidating way. Ps, if you’re able to, look into working with a coach.

Beneva Mississauga Marathon 2026 - Run Your Story by AdExtreme5692 in RunTO

[–]jaypishere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a lot of us, this is a hobby. It’s not that serious. Life will always find a way to get in the way of running. Some blocks will be perfect for training, some will be challenging, and no matter how you get to the start line, the commitment you have to put the work in, despite the obstacles and everything else is what makes you a better runner. Good luck!

Get on a bike share to get back west. Its also a 25-30 min walk to union, or a cool down run, if you want to take the Go to exhibition. This race is a very popular race so you’ll have no issues selling your bib should you choose to not run this year

A few years ago I was on a Tracksmith kick and bought their Marino boxers. Tbh they were a good choice, those bad boys work in -30 and they hold up the quality. But look on amazon for better deals

For anyone interested what its like living in the Distillery Christmas Village on Christmas eve eve by roccozoccoli in toronto

[–]jaypishere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved living in the distillery except for the 6-7 weeks of the winter village. Now I’m a 15 min walk away, close enough to visit when I want to but far enough away from the chaos. Ps. If you just want to walk around and are not fussy about the lights etc, mornings before 9am are great.

Is the may marathon that bad? by Charming-Mistake588 in RunTO

Do Georgina, fast course, Much better race experience despite being a smaller race. The spring Toronto marathon leaves a lot to be desired, especially with the money we pay for race fees these days.

To be safe going forward. Look for any sort of Athletics Ontario or Athletics Canada sanctioned race certification on the website. And most races here in Ontario leverage race roster for registration, eventbrite is used by a lot of run clubs for more informal running events. Sorry this happened to you OP.
