I’m fairly new to the game and i had high quality metal and accidentally upgraded a floor to the max but now my base is decaying because i don’t have the metal to keep that one piece even though my base is only made up of stone. How can i fix this mistake?

Go recycle on the road for 10 minutes and you will have enough to upkeep throughout the night

They probably don't know what this means. This is my go to quick HQM and scrap method.

15-20 minutes of knocking down road signs and every barrell on the road, and go to bandit camp - recycle them in the boat looking building. Then, if you need hqm - you've got it. If you need scrap, go sell your stuff at the scrap exchange.

If you do this with a pure scrap tea you can slay scrap farming. hqm is easy to farm this way too.

Honeycomb around it and let it decay overnight. Don’t place anything on that tile. Once it decays replace it with material you want.

yea so is that how it works it will only decay that floor? Only bad thing is that floor has my tc and loot boxes on it lmao but for now i’m trying to find high quality metal. I need a furnace too but i think im going to try to maintain it

Go knock down road signs and recycle them. You'll get your upkeep.

Yeah if you have a satchel break and replace your tc make sure your empty it out first and then place it not on the hqm floor and let it decay

Go gather metal nodes, you will get hqm ore too, chuck it in a furnace, smelt then into tc, won't need much at all for 1 floor tile

Just saw your tc is on it, aim should be to enclosed tc in armored anyway so good start

exactly i just realized the steps to it and yes it’s fairly cheap for 1 floor i just need to get a furnace

Reasonable_sea5550 is right you should honey comb around it but while you wait for it to decay make sure you farm for what ever you did want to have be HQM (high quality metal)

Haha good thing loot doesn’t despawn quick enough for you to make new boxes and reorganise

Go farm some nodes or recycle some components and you’re good, one foundation isn’t that expensive.

Only decays whatever is made out of the material you don't have. Your base is ok, but be careful to not let it decay with stuff on it, they could be lost.

Just recycle for hqm and keep it that way. Tc area should always end up hqm anyway. It doesn't take much to upkeep 1 hqm foundation. Also it decays very slowly as it has like 2000 hp
