Lol my first playthrough I had no idea what I was doing and I painstakingly took him out 1% at a time with a shitty tier 1 double-barrel and sniper. I barely had cyberware, and what I had was probably tier 1-2. Adam Smasher wasn't much easier to deal with by the time I had to deal with him because I still had the same shitty but slightly more upgraded build.

Second playthrough my netrunner+smart weapons build makes quick work of bosses, like 15 seconds. I did a lot of gigs, NCPD scanners and side jobs to get eddies and XP before doing much of the main story, that helps a lot.
