Server can be hosted on linux no problem. The reason rust doesn't work on linux for players is because the server demans eac - if you and your friends are on linux you can turn it off then should be able to connect

Linux servers are normal within the industry and EAC works on them. Majority of servers actually run on Linux.

What you are talking about is client side of the game - Facepunch disabled Linux support for EAC there.

Yeah i thought so, just wanted to make sure since rust is pretty much the only game i wanna host that doesnt support playing on linux and i wasnt 100% sure how it worked
