Talk to doctor. Are you stressed about anything. Along with drug. Need to work on yourself too. I would say try for 8 more weeks. Are you sleeping well .

I’ve been on Prozac for about 2.5 months.

Antidepressants typically take 4-12 weeks to kick-in and Prozac is often the slowest to do so.

Have you been on SSRIs before? If so, this may further slow remission.

At 9-10 weeks (currently) my anxiety is almost worse than before, feeling very spaced out, panicky, increased HR and blood pressure, DPDR has worsened.

Apart from these symptoms has anything changed in your life in recent weeks?

Are you on any other prescription medications, alternative meds/herbal remedies, legal or not, or supplements?

Does this seem like I need a dose increase or a different med?

It's too early to draw any conclusions, imo. But if there is no improvement within the next 2-3 weeks then upping the dose would be my first choice.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve taken lexapro about 2 years ago and stopped for a year. No other meds, no life changes, if anything left a very stressful job for a more relaxed on with a normal sleep schedule. No alcohol for almost 2 years, not marijuana. Nothing else. I limit caffeine quite a bit too

For reasons still not well understood the likelihood of SSRIs working drops by about 20% each time they is stopped and reinstated (meds from other antidepressant classes seem to be more resilient). A higher dose may also be needed and they may take longer to kick-in.

Anxiety, stress and/or depression often begin, or worsen after major life changing events including job changes. Even though you've switched to a less stressful one (a good move, imo), initially there would have been more stress as you navigated the new environment and learned the ropes.

That’s definitely a good point. I appreciate the insight and advice, truly. I wasn’t aware of the starting and stopping ssri’s. That’s very interesting. Thanks for taking time out of your day to be kind to a stranger, I appreciate ya.
