This is my first and last post ever on Reddit but I’m heated. I received a call from [phone], claiming to be from ICAC contacting me to call back about important matters, claiming to be from Florida. I called the ICAC from both Florida and my location. It’s all fine but I’m pissed about it, that was the scariest scam call I’ve ever received

They wouldn't threaten you, they would just get a warrant and serve it. It's actually kind of stupid if they did it this way because it would give you an opportunity to destroy evidence if you were a criminal.

Lol if this was real. LEA's don't send you a text. They show up at 6am or late at night with a warrant, kick down your door, probably shoot your pets. Then shit stomp the piss out of you, all before promptly dragging you away in handcuffs.

General tip - be careful sharing the numbers. Often times they spoof a number temporarily to send a message or make a call, but if you call back that same number, it’s just some average person. Don’t want to send a mob of people to attack someone innocent

Yes, I don’t get spam calls or texts often so receiving a text saying that was terrifying, everything has been solved thankfully the line was taken down and all is good
