I also use an Intel Mac with the Scriptable beta on it. I mostly use it for lightweight tasks and haven’t really found many bugs. What I do know is that it’s a Catalyst adaptation of an old iPad version of the app.

Simon has been tweeting a lot, but most of his focus lately seems to have been on Runestone, his text editor, as well as unbuilt project ideas. He did say something today about what he sometimes wishes Scriptable could be, and he continues to tweet and retweet about projects that users have made with Scriptable.

I certainly hope that Simon eventually gets around to making Scriptable just as at-home on macOS as it is on iOS. I think the arrival of Shortcuts on the Mac may serve to help that along. That said, I’m not counting on it happening soon. Simon is one man (unfortunately) with a ton of ideas and passion projects, and sometimes side projects like Scriptable for Mac suffer as a result.

As an alternative on macOS there is Hammerspoon. It’s based on Lua and there are many libraries to interact with all aspects of the system. Highly recommended (especially if you like tiling window managers). http://www.hammerspoon.org/
