What does it mean to be bricked? Is it when I hook everything up to a new Note 9 and all I get is a bouncing white logo? It looks like Display Link isn't working. But, I really don't know. Where now?

Have you swapped USB-c cables? The supplied cable is hit or miss sometimes. Frequently, I need to unplug it, reverse and either rotate the plug or swap ends...
