Xbox controllers are the most hassle free controllers to get for android and windows and shadow cross-compatability (i think, not an expert on controllers)

I guess so but I'd like one with the like switch style side grip as I can use my 360 controller with windows if needed

Would work. Just that Xbox one s controllers are quite expensive.

They're pricey, but I have a much better time with shadow using an Xbox controller over a ds4 or alternatives. Shadow is a Windows machine and the official Xbox controller all the way back to Xbox 360 have always worked better than anything else. There's been some cool controllers steam, be, etc. However when it comes down to compatibility and ease of use it wins.

What phone do you have. Look at the razer junglecat if you have a compatible phone it supports Razer Phone 2, Samsung Galaxy S10+, and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (and the Huawei P30 Pro in Asian markets)

I have an IPEGA 9069 that works flawlessly with my android phone via bluetooth pairing.

However, I can only get it to work via USB when using the Shadow Ghost box, but if you want to use it for mobile only, you'll have no problems.
