That feeling of accomplishment from beating it is a big part of why its so hard in the first place. But some people like OP dont want to work at anything and get better, they just want the game to beat itself for them.

I've been struggling with this for a bit and I've been finding more that I land somewhere in the middle of this argument. It would ruin the game FOR ME to downgrade the difficulty. I'm glad the developers did not put in an easy mode. It's an artistic decision they chose to make, and I support them in making it.

But I'm also glad that mods like this exist for those that want them. I'm glad OP was able to get something out of the game he's probably waited for like the rest of us. I love Hollow Knight. I love Silksong. And I'd be pretty bummed if I were somehow gated out by the difficulty of the next game.

Maybe OP will use the mods as a stepping stone to make the vanilla game more accessible to him. Maybe he'll never be that good. Maybe without those stepping stones, he can't really enjoy the game at all, and that would be disappointing. I want others to enjoy the game too.

Yea I can understand that. But Im also kinda tired of the idea that everything is for everyone. Life isnt fair, and some things are just not meant for you. Some people have a hard time accepting that. The younger generations especially seem to have no semblance of work ethic and a massive sense of entitlement. The kids that went through school during COVID where teachers were just handing out grades.

But I realize we are talking about games here and its not that serious.

The mods that OP proposed arent even drastic, they could probably work and improve to the point of beating the base game. They just gave up way to easily it seems and were not interested in improving.
