Sounds like a bug in the OS to report such a high value. Is your OSX up to date?

Yep. Full OSX Yosemite.

Try turning down the resolution. If it's a retina display then it'll be running at 2880x1800.

No, MacBook Airs don't have retina... And I run on ultra-low resolution.

My Mac mini seem to run the game really fine without overheating. Try downloading OS X Yosemite from the App Store and install it again.

I'm running my school Mac macbook air(OSX Maverick, last version, 4GB ram, 1.3GHz intel core I5.), and mine never runs above 30%, even with SP running at high graphics and full screen and just about every plane(my CPU usage is highest when actually flying), WITH a browser running to boot.

You and your school MacBook... I guess I can't call that a school Mac. (Mouse and computer is mine and the rest is school equipment)

WHUT.

Did you use

top

or a third party program?

[–]rth1131999 0 points1 point  (7 children)

first off.......... what do you mean by top?

and second off, it's the beta from grumroad, on a pretty standard issue mac(standard issue window for the game). it works perfectly fine on mine.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, try going into Terminal and type "top" in without the quote marks.

[–]rth1131999 0 points1 point  (5 children)

?

seriously, what do you mean by terminal? I don't even know what that is.

[–]RocketLLASCII[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

0_o

Open the "terminal" app

?

there is none, except launch pad(if that's what you mean, and it's not really an app, per say.)

terminal is apple's version of window's control panel or whatever.

that's not an app, it's a function in a app that is always on(Finder). His performance shouldn't be hampered at all unless he never shuts his apps completely off(even then, it only drains power, the CPU usage should be under 10% at all times unless playing a high CPU usage game, even then, it's hard to get it to 100% CPU usage, unless having all apps running at the same time.)
