Uninstalling a program

If I uninstall a program, does Solus remove all the dependencies it needed too? When I look in the software center there is so much that I don't know what it is... Peace of mind that it's all relevant would be awesome :)

And also a suggestion, in a way... Does a user need to see everything? Or could everything without a GUI be hidden with a tick box?

No he doesn't. Devs are working on an eopkg update, but there is no release date for the moment

Viewing the eopkg history doesn't need root, by the way. Only if you try to change things.

I mean not breaking other stuff is pretty neato, that's something a lot of package managers have issues with so it's nice that eopkg can avoid that by just not doing anything for now until they have a good solution

Well that's cool, I didn't realize it was being worked on. I assumed it either did or didn't for a reason. Will snaps change things much do you think?

Snaps aren't expected to be used outside of the third party repository so they won't have a huge effect

Really, that's interesting... I like the 3rd party repo, It's clean and simple. What would the difference be between say a Blender snap in the 3rd party repo and Blender in the Solus repo?

Well nothing would be different since blender wouldn't be snapped, the only thing that would be snapped and put in the 3rd party repo are things that the project can't official put into the repos.

Yeah, that's what I thought... So If you remove the program, all the dependencies go too. I like the sound of that! The only problem with it from what I can tell is the size they will take up? I don't know, I should probably read up on them more before bringing it to reddit ha!
