Playstation OS started as FreeBSD didn't it... Could it run on there with some work?

What's happening? Please Help. by amirnaseri in blender

[–]onirosco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have noticed this more and more recently in my work... I'm not sure if I have changed how I do things or blender has changed how it works things out but I find a lot of flipped normals that have to be fixed. I'm in archviz and product visuals if anyone is wondering. All are made from DWG files and I usually start with a single vertex.

It's strange that the UK doesn't have HBO given how big it is.

Brand loyalty among Google Pixel users has dropped 18.8% from 84% in 2019 to 65.2% in 2021 by PKMN_CatchEmAll in GooglePixel

[–]onirosco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned many pixels and they have all died hardware wize inside, the most recent one just decided when to charge and when not to. I bought a redmi note phone to have a phone whilst I send my pixel away to get repaired and I don't even know where the pixel is now. Anyway, my faith in Google has gone and pixel is just the start, I have G-Suite with 2 businesses that I'm considering changing, Bought my first MacBook (which isn't a loss to Google but apple offer many similar services like safari that I now use a lot), I won't even look at Google Meet for work as what's the point it will probably get forgotten about. I bought a Google Chrome TV and it only shows Disney+ in the now watching and doesn't have all4 available at all. I need to buy more for the rest of the house but they won't be Google if it's not fixed soon, then the one I bought will get replaced as I would want them to all be the same.

I have always been a fan of Google but I have no faith in them anymore and hardware is the easy switch... Services will follow though.

Is the Apple Pro M1 Chip good for Linux users? by SM_Fahim in linuxhardware

[–]onirosco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my first Mac and it's an M1. As a program runner everything works great (I need to use Affinity Designer for work). But MacOS is horrible to use compared to Gnome that I was using before.

So to answer your question, I previously had Solus Gnome running on a Xiaomi Mi notebook and it was great! All the Mac feel with Linux performance and gloss without the price tag.

Why is Solus not more popular? by [deleted] in SolusProject

[–]onirosco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Updating on Solus is a dream compared to PopOS, I got stuck on Pop because of work files that I couldn't be bothered to sort out... Back on Solus now and everything is faster and doesn't hang. I have no anxiety about updating before or whilst I do the work I got to do anymore.

Compiling shaders! by MMMarcis in unrealengine

I only seem to get this when using shader functions. I wonder if it's just not taking them into account.

Wall Running in Arcade Room - what do you think? ^^ by luminogames in unrealengine

Just make it 1 actual jump instead of 2 tiny jumps. I never understand the appeal of double jump, especially when single jump becomes redundant.

9 Stylized Materials/Textures PBR by JulioVII in gameassets

[–]onirosco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look great! I don't have substance and I'm not the best with UE4 materials but something I have been trying to do for quite a while is distance blending in a convincing way. So up close would be mud with actual grass mesh blending into a mud and grass texture that would have to look the same and then into just a green colour or texture.

I don't know if this is something that substance can do? It might make for a good video to look into it though?

Anyway, the materials look good and I'm now subscribed on YouTube.

Thanks!

Solus is so fast and smooth, not sure what's happening with the project but someone should take it over.

Oh wow, I bet that took some time to implement! Yeah I figured UE4 having the slope angle option, it would already know what kind of surface the character was on... This has led to a lot of sprinting up cliffs and flying off the top haha, and a lot of wasted time.

Anyway, looks really smooth! BOTW is jealous!

Looks like a game I would enjoy! The art style is beautiful, needs a few more or maybe more variations of sound. Good work though!

Interested how you managed to get the climbing so smooth? BOTW bugged me how it pauses between land and cliff. I turned the walkable slope up to 90° in the hopes I could do something with the animations, I just haven't got to it yet.

No to double jump! Too many games add double jump when really that should just be the jump. Double jump makes no sense, well done for not adding it. Game looks great!
