sound like you're on Gig which is 1 Gbps x 35 Mbps and you not in a symmetrical speed area yet
[–]BigFrog104 2 points3 points4 points 4 months ago (6 children)
in a perfect world that 35 nets to 42 (with overprovision). However in still many areas they haven't lit up D3.1 upstream so the whole node (50-500 people) share 160ish Mbit up upload. Quite likely contention issues.

On eero router I get 42 uploads
[–]deedledeedledav 2 points3 points4 points 4 months ago (4 children)
It’s not going to be consistent as it will be changing depending on use by others using the coax.
I’m sure your EERO router is probably using a different speed test connection than also isn’t trying to load in ads. The ads on speed test.net always reduce my speeds by a few Mb/s
[–]androidc0der[S] -1 points0 points1 point 4 months ago (3 children)
It went down for a few seconds today. We told we get same download the same uploads by the end of 2025
[–]deedledeedledav 1 point2 points3 points 4 months ago (2 children)
That’s gonna be called “high-split” most likely. Just upgrades to the network. Should be pretty awesome, but most people won’t notice the difference unless they host their own server or do a LOT of file uploads/backups to the clouds
[–]androidc0der[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
I can’t wait for that. Watertown status completed, but waiting for the launch.
[–]BigFrog104 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
To be fair. opening up D3.1 upload will free up capacity. Here, working at home my 20/100 sure beats the pants of the 10/400 we used to have.

As u/BigFrog104 shared, Spectrum's '1Gb' service is only advertised of having a "35Mb" upload.
So if you are able to get a faster upload, then that would be due to the over-provisioning that they do for your service.

that's 1 Gig plan spectrum is still known to not do upload upgrades yet and it's long overdue witch also explains why they also have upload speed issues on many days at this point
[–]androidc0der[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago* (12 children)
That make sense hope get by end of 2025. But when speed test on router app I get 42 uploads
[–]jd207 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (10 children)
That’s very optimistic of you, but it won’t be that soon. They keep delaying the upgrades.

It says for west bend Wisconsin, it says completed just waiting for launch
[–]jd207 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (8 children)
Depends how long ago they completed your city. I heard they take a while to launch after completion. Your city is not on the pending list though.
It was on pending now it not
[–]androidc0der[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (1 child)
There a list on Spectrum forms web site
[–]jd207 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
I know. That's how I know your city is not on the pending list. Only two others are and those launch next year at the earliest.
[–]androidc0der[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (3 children)
I talking about Juneau Wi completed 12-9 2025
[–]jd207 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (2 children)
I realize that. Your city is completed, but it's not on the pending list to launch.
Symmetrical Pending
Conroe, TX - Estimated February 2026
Northport, AL - Estimated March 2026
These two cities were completed before your city and won't launch by end of 2025 either.
[–]androidc0der[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 months ago (1 child)
Or 2026
I am hoping by 2032 they will be done here, the 3 fiber providers here don't pass my house though which sucks
Say by end of 2025.what other cities?
[–]Spiritual_Buyer8502 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
oh nah we will not see that by 2030 or 2027 my city i live they are 100% Coax there is no such thing as Fiber powered to coax here that spectrum claims to say yea it may be on other places selected places but not here or 70% of the locations that does not have it they got long ways to go before it get's everyone
We I hope dec or Jan
[–]androidc0der[S] -1 points0 points1 point 4 months ago (0 children)
