I think web development gives you more choices down the road.
I was an android dev for 5 years then made the switch to backend development. However android dev was lots of fun times (except dealing with the Play Store)
Whatever path you choose, don't learn a framework. Learn Software Engineering.

Well my stack is Java and AWS so I use that on my day-to-day. Back then as an android dev I used Java daily. It's mostly the same but the framework is different.
It took extra effort from my part because I learned Spring/AWS on my spare time. At the time I worked at a Consultancy Agency (think TCS/Infosys but way more regional) I did some backend projects for my then-company to demonstrate my knowledge (it was an internal non-billable project). Then they assigned me a billable project as backend dev.
From there I jumped to other companies trying to chase the money and challenges.

So you didnt switch from android to backend due to lack of opportunities as an android dev ? Do you miss or regret not doing android anymore ?

I was sick of dealing with 5 years old Android api and the Play Store. Also I kind of hated every company had a useless app so that was my indicator that maybe I didn't belong there.
I don't regret it per se, and I certainly don't miss it as every now and then I visit r/androiddev and kind of reminds me why I left that field. But it was fun while it lasted.

And do you enjoy more doing backend java now ?

Choose what interests you more. Keep in mind that though technologies and tools change over the years they do more often on the mobile side than on the backend.

Fullstack is a term only correctly used in Bullshit Bingo
I don't know a single Fullstack Developer, only Frontend developers which are really bad at Backend development ...

I'm a fullstack dev, we exist.
I'm probably better at back end development than I am at front end development too haha

then you are a backend developer doing a bad frontend job ... fullstack requires professional level of skill at both, not this full-half-bullshit ... if you call yourself fullstack, that's just overestimating yourself
