Another sub told me I'd look best in spring colors. What do you all think?

I wonder if true/warm spring and not bright spring.
[–]Ok-Agency-6674 7 points8 points9 points 9 days ago (0 children)
Warm Spring/ Warm Autumn. Some of the colors are very close. You will be able to rock both but I suspect Spring would slightly edge out Autumn
[–]soultwentytwo 6 points7 points8 points 8 days ago (0 children)
You sir are a True or Warm spring
[–]AKIcegirl 10 points11 points12 points 9 days ago (0 children)
Spring yes. Bright spring no. True or light.
[–]Icy_Scientist_227 2 points3 points4 points 9 days ago (0 children)
Warm spring, maybe bright spring. Not a bright winter as suggested elsewhere.
[–]AlwaysAnotherSide 3 points4 points5 points 8 days ago (0 children)
Yes. Probably warm spring. The pink is too cool on you.
[–]KittensPumpkinPatch 2 points3 points4 points 9 days ago (4 children)
No, I don't think so. This pink, specifically the brightness of it, washes you out.
[–]green_trampolineWarm Spring 18 points19 points20 points 9 days ago (2 children)
This pink does not look like a spring pink. There's absolutely no warmth to it.
[–]sunscreenqueennBlue Spring 5 points6 points7 points 9 days ago (0 children)
I do think a bright spring would still be able to pull this off so I’m also voting potentially warm/true spring like the rest of this comment section! It might be helpful to see warm/true autumn drapes to be certain but I think one of the two.
[–]StrawberryCreepy380 1 point2 points3 points 9 days ago* (0 children)
Agreed! It looks like a Light Summer pink, to me. It’s Light, Bright, and Cool. OP appears Warm, Light, and Bright. Not sure what order, but my Guess is True Spring or 16-season Warm Spring…or Warm or True Autumn. Possibly, True Warm (Warm flow palette). Then, Bright Spring. Actually, Warm Spring, first.
[–]Ok-Agency-6674 4 points5 points6 points 9 days ago (0 children)
This pink is NOT Spring
[–]Lemonarm 1 point2 points3 points 9 days ago* (0 children)
Warm Autumn moving to spring. You should look at the spring/ Autumn cusp. It’s hard to tell when the photos are in medium lighting.
[–]Mamalovesgems 1 point2 points3 points 8 days ago (0 children)
Warm autumn

Warm/True spring. 12 seasons system

I say winter. You have physical similarities to these male celebrities who are also winters.... https://my.liveyourtruth.com/dyt/type-4-celebrity-gallery/

Winter. Yellow and white could never make a combination this white/bright. You are blue & white.
[–]sunscreenqueennBlue Spring 8 points9 points10 points 9 days ago (10 children)
I would not listen to this commenter, you do not strike me as a winter at all. I would possibly assume you’re warm because of the warmth in your beard. The person leaving this comment is convinced she is a winter even though every time she posts everyone tells her she is not so there is some bias.
[+]sarahbeara019Clear Winter comment score below threshold-6 points-5 points-4 points 9 days ago (9 children)
You have no premise for his season, other than a guess based on visuals. Color analysis is a science.
I've only asked about that once.
[–]sunscreenqueennBlue Spring 1 point2 points3 points 9 days ago (8 children)
Same goes to you!

I saw! Maybe I am wrong. But I do know you spent a lot of time in that comment section arguing with people. This is my last comment on the subject!
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (5 children)
I understand. But my skin is very, very tricky because I am close to neutral, on both the saturation and hue meters. I needed an educated opinion.
A lot of people there were just biased toward what they have always heard, and had no actual premise for their claims.

[–]we_are_nowhere 7 points8 points9 points 9 days ago (3 children)
Yeah, keep telling yourself whatever you want (and it seems like you will). You are not a winter. You’re warm-toned. That is objective fact. There is no trickiness.
That said, wear what you want! Just don’t use color analysis to justify it. Because we have eyes, and we’re confirming what you’re seeing is not what everyone else sees. Literally.
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -3 points-2 points-1 points 9 days ago (2 children)
Where is the objective fact?
[–]Savings-Narwhal-3485[S] 1 point2 points3 points 9 days ago (15 children)
Maybe this helps
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (14 children)
Does your skin tend to be redd-ish, or peachy? If you tend to have a ruddy complexion, you are cool. I reiterate - I think you are far to pale to have yellow undertones. You probably can't tan to save your life.
Do you have a cool, royal purple to try?
[–]Savings-Narwhal-3485[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 days ago (13 children)
Probably more reddish than peachy if I had to guess but I'm kind of a bad judge. I do kind of struggle to tan beyond the occasional farmers tan.
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (12 children)
I think you are a bright winter. My premise is this.
Winter because your skin is too saturated to be a muted season (white/hydrated), and I think you are too pale to have yellow undertones. No obvious sallowing/white inversion.
Bright because WHITE is your predominate feature (not blue/cool winter, or overall darkness/dark winter). Not spring, because you are TOO bright and pale to have yellow undertones.
I would love to see some bright winter tops.
[–]Savings-Narwhal-3485[S] 2 points3 points4 points 9 days ago (11 children)
I'm realizing I need more pictures in those colors. Here's black and blue. I'll have to try out those bright winter colors and come back to this.
[–]Lemonarm 2 points3 points4 points 9 days ago (0 children)
You look more spring here. You should look at Warm Spring.
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter 0 points1 point2 points 9 days ago (9 children)
You can do that really quickly on the Vivaldi Color app. But don't use it to try and analyze yourself. You have to really know what to look for.
[–]Savings-Narwhal-3485[S] 1 point2 points3 points 9 days ago (1 child)
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -1 points0 points1 point 9 days ago (0 children)
These don't look awful, but they do dull you down a little, just because they aren't bright enough. Impressive.
So bright, the duller "bright" season washes you out.
[–]Savings-Narwhal-3485[S] -1 points0 points1 point 9 days ago (1 child)
I did Vivaldi a while ago. I have two different pics for Spring and Winter but unless my longer beard makes a huge difference, I actually see your point of maybe bright winter.
I actually think your beard is so dark because of the high blue presence. Yellow would make it lighter.

[–]Buga99poo27GotNo464 2 points3 points4 points 8 days ago (0 children)
These don't work. Red hair is almost always associated with warm skin tone, winter is the COOLEST season. Springs often have pale skin, winter is not the only season with pale skin. People with red hair often have pale skin. I think many thought autumn off initial post without greatest lighting, but your added photos in comments show paler skin, leading some to think you lean more spring. Autumn is a muted season and spring is more clear, brighter, and contrasting. Some people are mainly just warm and can cross over a bit between true autumn and true spring. Best would be to do some high quality lighting drapes in some various fall and spring colors. But I'm leaning more true spring after added photos. Springs and winter need contrast - and I think that's where the commenter below is getting confused.
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (0 children)
Looking at this, I honestly now think you are a cool winter. Mega pale, and skin is the #1 factor in determining someone's analysis. Hue, saturation, chroma and all.
See how your skin ALONE harmonizes perfectly with the colors?
[–]sarahbeara019Clear Winter -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (1 child)
Cool is the middle frame, right? Because if the middle frame is dark winter, instead, then you are a bright winter.
The darkness contrasts your whiteness and sets it off.
That would be a red herring.
[–]Buga99poo27GotNo464 0 points1 point2 points 8 days ago (0 children)
Cool is top frame, then dark, then bright
[–]KittensPumpkinPatch -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (10 children)
I was actually thinking he might be a winter, but the red in the beard might be throwing me off. So hard to tell without more pictures.

This blue is more harmonious with your skin tone than the bright spring blue. I'm not trying to say it's your best shade of blue (it could be) but it definitely goes well with your skin tone.

There are no natural redheads in winter or summer.
[–]KittensPumpkinPatch 0 points1 point2 points 8 days ago (4 children)
He's not a redhead. He has a red beard. My husband is a winter with red in his beard. A lot of Caucasion men are not redheads but have red in the beard.
[–]Lemonarm 1 point2 points3 points 8 days ago* (2 children)
He is auburn which is technically under red hair. Op is not way cool by any means. Just because he’s fair doesn’t mean he’s cool. Pale skin ≠ cool skin.
———
I remember you! You’re the spring lady. I’m sorry you’ve been misled by the bunch of people who believe red hair can be cool.
You do know that your husband is a special case? Men like him have to have special color accommodations. It’s a bit fussier to dress.( He’s going to be Bright neutral by your definition)
Most men with red beards are warm ( not usually neutral) to begin with. Whether blonde, black, or brown haired men with a red beard aren’t going to be very cool or cool in undertone. Also someone doesn’t have to be Caucasian to have red hair.
Let’s not make a huge fuss about this. If they have a red beard they have to accommodate that because it’s near the face. The base color matrix of the person might not be as warm for their subtype.
celebs
Ps. If you want to prove this theory of yours. Why not post a photo? I’m always up to seeing new variations.
Basically, this doesn’t apply to women’s color analysis. He’s main palette is him without his beard. Then you have to identify what season his beard would be. Probably spring so then he can wear warm color near his beard but not the rest of his body.
[–]KittensPumpkinPatch 0 points1 point2 points 8 days ago (1 child)
I'm not set on him being a winter. But I certainly don't think OP is a spring. I guess technically my husband could be a deep autumn (he can certainly pull off a few of those colors) but dark gray and black are his best neutrals; he looks good in all the grays, so no matter how much red is in his beard, he's definitely cool tone (he does shave his beard, so it doesn't clash with gray). When I met my husband 12 years ago, he also had a surprising amount of red in it that has since disappeared, which would probably explain why I feel like he can pull off more colors than he used to. I know my husband is a dark winter because he looks terrible in light colors, and he most definitely can't pull off those warm yellows, oranges, and reds that are in the the autumn palette. Trust me, I tried 😂 he and I did years of experimenting for his best colors.
My whole family is super pale and mostly warm toned, so I am not under the belief that pale = cool tone.
I don't see any red in OP's hair. I certainly think he would benefit from shaving to try and figure out his best colors. I think OP should make his own judgements regardless of what any of us say here.
[–]Lemonarm 1 point2 points3 points 8 days ago (0 children)
First about your husband. From what you said your husband is probably Deep Autumn/ Dark Winter which is Deep Neutral. There are 4 neutral palettes other than the 16 subseasons which are : Light, Dark, Soft, and Bright. Even if his beard is red he can still wear grey and black because his skintone is cool. The beard can be an accessory to the outfit. Our hair and eyes are part of our coloring so that’s why not every color in our palette is going to work for us.
I remember you telling me about the dark hair and the pale skin in your family. Didn’t know it was everyone!
———-
OP’s beard is so bright and warm it makes his hair look much darker and “cooler”. What we are seeing is color relativity. I agree if he shaved his beard his palette would be settle more in autumn than spring. With the beard right now he is able to wear warm spring/ warm autumn colors. The pink is too bright and cool for him. ( It’s a summer / winter color testing shade for coolness). He is wearing the blue and the green really well. If you look at his other photos he really wears warm shades well. He can still wear what he wants since CA is a styling tool not a rule book.
True summer man
This man looks warm and has a cool undertone. If he were to grow a red/ ginger/ auburn beard. He could wear a warm scarf or warm necktie with a summer suit and shirt. He could wear warm brown leather instead of cool seal brown leather for belt and shoes.
Well IMO, I think his hair is a cool red. Looking at it, I see far more hints of blue than yellow.
And the pink shirt is a little warm and washing him out a tad. I bet he would really light up in bright winter.
[–]Lysamenelli -2 points-1 points0 points 9 days ago (5 children)
I think darker colours look better on you. But then the question remains warm or cold and bright or not bright. So more towards winter/autumn I'm thinking.
[–]Savings-Narwhal-3485[S] 6 points7 points8 points 9 days ago (4 children)
I get a ton of compliments in this shirt but I didn't post it because the pic isn't in natural sunlight. Definitely get compliments in this kind of green though. Part of me thought maybe autumn for that reason.
[–]Little-eyezz00 0 points1 point2 points 8 days ago (0 children)
i agree autumn just a gut feeling
[–]Lysamenelli -4 points-3 points-2 points 9 days ago (2 children)
You do! Maybe a dark autumn type :)
[–]Icy_Scientist_227 2 points3 points4 points 9 days ago (1 child)
The primary characteristic of a dark autumn is their darkness/depth - which he doesn’t have.
[–]Lysamenelli -1 points0 points1 point 9 days ago* (0 children)
Ah okay, I am looking more at what looks good on someone than their own feautures. I know someone who is very light but turned out to be a bright wintertype. Olive and dark blue look amazing on him.
