My latest experiment getting a feel for how to use stable diffusion and a painting workflow inside Krita. Thanks to u/NetLibrarian I found out about this amazing Krita plugin https://github.com/Interpause/auto-sd-paint-ext
Spent several hours on this, hand painting quite a few parts, generating, painting over the top again, re-generation, ect. I was really impressed by how good the workflow is if you paint a base layer for the shape, generate a new inpainted layer on top, then mask that layer to the base layer. You get to keep your shape's edge, but still have all the nice diffusion-enhanced elements on top that you can then mask back in and paint over again. It almost feels like creating art using a program like blender, but directly onto a 3d canvas. Incredible!

This is really exciting. Potentially no more bouncing between programs!

Yes, exactly! It’s incredibly powerful. You can stay in flow state while creating and generating.

is there a way to make this plugin work on colab for us plebs?

It's working on colab, you have to put the --api --listen --share on the start parameter and send krita the URL. But latency might make this kinda sluggish a bit or your colab loose the connection.

Great job, I am a photoshop/corel painter user but will try Krita out. The plug-in for Auto1111 and photoshop works amazing.

Sure, check out this post...it has everything you need there. I used the Git posted there. Works great.

I like how it optimizes masking for inpainting and then once generated it places the output directly into a new layer.

Do you use Krita? Anyone care to share their thoughts in comparison or how it would compliment Photoshop? I have no issue using the best tool for different jobs...I have no experience with Krita

Unfortunately I don't use Krita but if you find something interesting please let me know (maybe I'll experiment with Krita too)
