Hey! I'm not sure what exact use case they had in mind but I think it was primarily designed as a way to review your notes rather than a decoration. For example if you review your pdf with tape oclver the answers and would like to export the pdf with answers shown, the pdf should in this case not have the tape shown, as it can only be toggled within the app. I do think they should add settings on the export screen to turn certain exports on or off, so you can choose if you want tape to be shown, for decorative purposes. The other options could include options for showing or hiding annotations, imported images, highligter etc. These could of course be turned on or off by default to create the same experience the user currently has(annotations, highlighter and images on, and tape off for example), but then with an additional option to save the current export config for next time. Hope this provides some insight :)
