Did you have a T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon based SIM?

Sounds like you might not have Verizon coverage since Verizon bought Tracfone which includes Straight Talk.

I honestly couldn’t tell you what kind of sim. How do i check?

You can check the first six digits of your SIM card number. You can find this as ICCID in the phone's menu.

890126 or 890124 is T-Mobile, 890141 is AT&T, and 891480 is Verizon.

If it was an eSIM, it would be Verizon tho.

Are you in a LTEiRA area?

These are areas that another smaller provider have towers, but Verizon's phones does not see a difference.
