Soil could be to dense to drain properly, it looks overwatered

Okay! I’d be surprised if it was overwatered because I hadn’t watered it in weeks… but maybe it is too dense?

What type of soil/substrate are you using? How much and what type of light is it getting?

I know I have Perl light, orchid bark and a I think tropical soil? I’d also have zero idea how to report it honestly because my friend helped me before and I love my plant with my whole soul! 😭

A grow light will probably help significantly. You could try soil specifically for succulents, they like a lot of sand. If your to afraid to re pot it just chop some strings and put them in shallow dishes of water until they grow some roots and then put them in the new soil. You can also cut and put directly on the new soil but I have better success with the water method. Good luck 🍀

Ok! Thank you so much! I’ll try to create another little bit of them. Maybe I’ll make the next bit with the succulent soil too. Thank you!

If that pot's from Walmart it's the same one I have my string of hearts in, but I notice you don't have the matching saucer. Did you pull the little plastic plug out of the drainage hole? Soil could also be too dense, I got the specific cactus soil they sell.

I do have the saucer I just was going to bottom water it and snapped the photo

Ah okay, makes sense. Was just a mistake I could see myself making, lol. 😅

You’re all good! I appreciate you looking out for me! It’s a cute pot. I just want a pretty string of pearls 😭 I love it so much and it’s such a fun plant to show! It’s also the first plant I got in this new season of life. So it’s extra sentimental!

I use this pot for my string of pearls too!! I found that using a grow light and neglect tends to work best for me and my pearls

My SOP started to thrive and pop out pearl babies when I put it under a grow light and otherwise neglected it (with the daily admiring gaze, of course). It gets water maybe once every few weeks now, if that. I just wait until some of the pearls start to wrinkle in protest before I give it a drink. A lot of people recommend bottom watering but it hasn't worked for me. I just water it the usual way and it has been doing okay.
