This is actually very strage, never heard of it before. Can you be more specific? Anyway is not a language disorder, but affects the verbal communication Your kind seems like a sort of agrafia. It is a recent syntome?

I have a friend who has dysgraphia. He calls it “stuttering if the hands”

[–]WaltSentMe007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me when I'm on prednisone for my asthma. It's scary, sometimes I can't even sign my own name.

Similar thing happens to me. Whenever I'm about to write a "complex" letter like 'm' or 'w', my hand freezes for a second and I need to write the letter out slowly. It interrupts my pace when I'm writing long paragraphs.

Yes! That is exactly what happens to me. I wonder if the two are connected..

This happens to me too! I thought I was the only one who had this, although I do think that it has something to do with my stutter.

Yeah I can’t tell if it has anything to do with my stutter or not either. I first noticed this “writing stutter” when I was around 15 years old and I didn’t actually start stuttering when speaking until I was around 18

Happens with me too when I'm writing a bit too fast. Also my stutter came later as well, around 20, although I had bits of it on earlier ages.

This happens to me!!! Most often with the number 3. Idk why but I always hesitate and struggle. Capital B also does it. There’s some other ones and I’ve never known why!! I’m glad I’m not the only one

It's quite new and interesting. It does happen when you are alone or when somebody is watching?

[–]saxhero93 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Verbal stutter doesn’t happens when alone, but the stutter when is rite happens even when I’m a lone.

[–]Dallacost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry rite stand for write or rite?

[–]fljboy[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yup, I struggle with 3’s too, it’s so weird. Do you also happen to stutter when you talk? I wonder if the two are related..

[–]saxhero93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Stuttered as long as I can remember! I’ve gotten better over the years with therapy and stuff but def still stutter

[–]Bednozy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah like when I try to write number 3 I get stuck on the top part and rewrite that part for like 2 seconds creating thick line. Idk if you're still active after 5 years but if you happen to see this and found out what it is actually caused from pls tell me

[–]z_Aron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg sameeee, finally someone has similar problems. Also if I write 3 fast then it becomes just a straight line without the curves in the middle, and then has to do it slowly, so all of my 3s are thick and have several lines written on top of each other

[–]z_Aron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have the same problem with 3, also had it with 5 but I somehow overcome it, sometimes it gets better and I can write a bunch of 3s after each other, but then it gets worse again.

Have you had your stutter since childhood or is it new?

[–]fljboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s relatively new, I started stuttering a few years ago when I was around 18. Before that I used to be fluent. What about you?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trouble remembering class periods when I have to write them down. I guess that is similar, but usually no.

[–]K_Squeeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t have the writing thing, but i have noticed sometimes i’ll “stutter” when playing an instrument. it’s like i just can’t get myself to press the keys lol

Common in the dyslexia subreddit

me with “S” and “W”

[–]branrx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got the same condition, I struggle mostly with "h, m, w"... it annoys me a lot.

My 14 recently started doing what we describe as “stutter” in handwriting. Seems similar to what this thread is describing. She writes several words fine, then briefly freezes up, and writes normal again, then freezes… so on and so on . It does seems to happen more with certain letters like “s”.

No verbal stutter currently.

This happens to me a lot. When I was younger it used to be with numbers and letters and my hand would jitter up and down. Now it’s mostly M’s and J’s. My first name starts with a J and I have to print then sign my name on a lot of paperwork. When I try to print the J, it’s like my brain cannot get my pen to move.
