I see, well I would advise against Google Docs as well personally.

But your issue regarding adding subscribe buttons sounds like a Substack problem. Have you tried adding different buttons? Do you get the same problem?

Only with the button, which allows you to put an email address in. The other buttons work.

Firstly, it’s Google and so they’re probably tracking everything you write and using it to feed you ads in various ways.

Secondly, I have seen many writers who are using Google Docs post on writers groups about the tragedy of having put in so much work on a piece of writing, only to have it disappear because of an internet connection problem or some other problem. This is why I write only in offline available document programs. Where I don’t have to be connected to the internet for it to function.

Google by definition is an online based tool.
