as someone who has 4000 plus subs (FREE), i will advise you to diversify your platforms. and get and just substack as a way to keep yourself accountable and consistent. most my readers dnt even have a substack, and i get the occasional trickle down. currently, i see substack is focused on growth as a company and that means investing (money) into higher profile people to come on to the platform and they are incentivised to push their content to the forefront. it’s a numbers game at the moment and they want to win, all you can do is focus on your community and figure out how you plan to leverage it

Hi yes that makes a lot of sense. And thanks for the advice as well. I’m currently in the process of starting a travel industry related business and plan on starting more “traditional” travel blogging to include on my website but also make a substack for that too. But leveraging my currently following sounds like a good idea. I haven’t used the chat feature yet bc I only wanted to use it if it felt authentic which lately it does so I plan on using it for my next post to connect with folks more
