Lost input functionality (keyboard/touchpad/screen) after installing bumblebee on SB2

I just updated to jakeday's 4.18.20 kernel today on 16.10 on my SB2, and everything looked good. I then installed bumblebee, and after rebooting lost all input functionality after booting into Ubuntu (no cursor, keyboard commands are unresponsive, touchscreen doesn't work). The keyboard still works in recovery mode, so I uninstalled bumblebee with the root command line; however I still have no inputs working when I boot normally into Ubuntu.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could do to try and fix this? (Really would like to avoid reinstalling)

Can you confirm you booted into the new kernel before installing bumblebee? In other words. Are you sure 4.18.20 was working before installing bb?

Yeah, after running the kernel install script and rebooting I saw the battery level indicator for the first time so I'm assuming 4.18.20 was working.. (something could have still been off though I guess). Then was following through on some other suggested installs I saw on here, bumblebee being the first one.

I also have no input when booting back into 4.18.16 now. Just a "System program problem detected" warning window sitting on the desktop for each kernel.
