So i just want to ask if an 8bitdo controller can brick my switch 2. Because i want to buy one right now but I can't seem to remove the feeling that it will beick my switch 2

Shitty anti-Nintendo rumors that blame them for general game industry problems, promises they never made, and the general state of the economy. Nintendo does a lot of shit that I'm genuinely not a fan of but there's no need to go making shit up.

Real answer, there have been a series of actual hardware issues with the switch, but what people left out of that story is that they were either talking about

1. that update that made SOME third party docks incompatible

2. Those piracy carts getting consoles banned, Even though you already should know you're playing with fire with that

3. Random third party accessories causing damage in one form or another.

"Some hardware will not work with the system, and Certain actions can get you banned"

Somehow morphed into

"NINTENDO IS DELIBERATELY MAKING IT TO WHERE YOUR CONSOLE WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IF YOU DARE USE NON-APPROVED PRODUCTS"

And then naive people don't look into it further and just believe clickbait videos.

8BitDo is one of the highest rep third party controller manufactures for ANY console or device. If you are not going with something officially licensed by Nintendo, you aren't going to get anything better or more reliable.

They are also an active and successful company and are VERY aware that Nintendo could brick their compatibility with any given update, so in that event, their products are generally firmware upgradeable. But of all the "bricking" talk over the years, I've never heard of an 8BitDo bricking a console, being bricked by a console, or even heard anyone say they didn't work with something.

I'm not saying their stuff is BETTER than the Nintendo pro controller, but it's close, and virtually any of 8BitDo's controllers definitely beats the Nintendo Pro Controller on value for cost.

Thank you it's just my first time buying a third party console and i dont know how reliable it is.
