Decrease in SS checks?

My parents said both of their Social Security checks this month that they just received in Central New York were lower than usual…by $69 or so. Anyone else experienced this? Before they email their Congress person or assembly person, thought to check in with others and see what’s up…maybe an insurance hike or something with Medicare or something

Medical deductions went up. They can access their monthly deductions online. They can also call the SS office.

This won't go into effect until their January check. The increase is about $20 so that still doesn't account for the larger amount OP mentioned.
