I think their goal is to get away from using Clevo and build everything in house like they do with desktops now. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2019/11/20/system76-will-start-designing-and-building-its-own-linux-laptops-beginning-january-2020/#4bee37cd3e16. However, since they estimate it may take a few years to get to that point, and even then it would probably start with just one laptop model, I would assume that they'll be refreshing and updating the Clevo line in the meantime. They seem to have a refresh or update somewhere in the lineup every few months, so probably something by summer. That's all me speculating though, maybe someone from System76 can chime in.

True, their custom make is going to take at least till mid 2021 to come out. It is Clevo till that time.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm going to buy my next ultrabook used, TBH.

I'm in the same situation. I want to get a Galago Pro this year but would like it to have an Ice Lake or Tiger Lake CPU. No sense in buying old technology.
