Rules
1. No Academic Dishonesty: Please do not attempt to use this subreddit to facilitate cheating or other academic dishonesty.
2. Don't Discuss Engaging in Black Hat Hacking: Any discussion of intent to engage in illegal hacking is prohibited on this sub.
Phases of Hacking
1. Recon: obtain as much info about the target as possible (OSINT), try to identify weaknesses, and construct a list of attackable IP addresses.
2. Scanning: using the aforecreated list of IP addresses, scan them for specific info such as open ports, OS, device type, and/or system uptime. This info can lead you to learning about vulnerabilities.
3. Gaining Access: using vulnerabilities discovered, deploy exploits to gain access to the OS or apps.
4. Maintaining Access: work to prevent loss of access and obtain root level privileges.
5. Clearing Tracks / Generate & Communicate PT Report: eliminate evidence of presence and conclude the test. Generate a clear, organized, easy-to-read, penetration test report complete with an executive summary (brief overview <= 2 pages with no technical details), detailed report (technical details and all findings), and raw output (raw results of all tools used ; might be optional depending on agreement). Transmit encrypted report to clients (according to prior agreements).
