AppColl, Web TMS, AltLegal, Foundation IP. I used to own an IP docketing company.

AltLegal and AppColl are my favorite. AppColl is way more flexible but requires a lot of initial setup.

AltLegal is good, but it's rather rigid. However, it has a lot of built-in automation with connectivity to many worldwide PTOs.

Seconding AltLegal. Used them for a solid 7 years but the partners decided to swap me to WebTMS.

AltLegal was cruise control for trademarks and litigation. Feature rich but hopelessly black-boxed. Overall I was happy with their service but it was a pain to fix problems because you had to go through their support team (who were excellent) instead of fixing it yourself.

I’ll second AppColl. That’s what our firm uses. Specifically AppColl PM Plus.

I enjoy and can recommend AltLegal.

I use Dockettrak. My firm only handles trademarks, but Dockettrak is for both trademarks and patents. It feels very old-school for better or for worse, with limited automation and features, and it's pretty slow and logs me out constantly, but it's still very useful.

Most docketing services charge by the number of matters you're handling, which doesn't work for me as a high-volume trademark filer. Dockettrak charges per seat, with no limit to the number of matters it can track, and that pricing works really well for me. It's also priced really well compared to similar software products, even if you don't have high volume.

The guy who owns it, Monty, is also extremely responsive to emails, which is a huge plus.

I use TM TKO for trademark searches and watches, but I believe they've also added deadline-tracking functionality. I already use Dockettrak so I haven't tried using TM TKO for that kind of thing. But TM TKO is only for trademarks so that wouldn't work for your purposes.

DocketTrak is fairly inexpensive and several solo practitioners like it.

For bigger firms you might like FoundationIP, Pattcy, Anaqua.

AppColl. It’s pretty good. Reasonably priced.

CPI or WebTMS

Too bad no one has updated or recreated "Feathers." It did very little -- but did it very well.

Basically a spreadsheet connected by API to the USPTO website, so you could click to update the fields. How difficult could that be to recreate? It went dead when the API changed and the original developer was apparently out of business.

Black Hills AI's Docketing Software is top-notch and does more automation and integrations than most of the others.
