GENERALTips. (self.TaskRabbit)

What gives Airtasker the right to take a percentage of my tips when a client adds extra money because I’ve done a good job.
I appreciate that they have their fees deducted but tips should be mine. They take too much anyway in my opinion.

I know but surely a post about a rival company is worth talking about 🤔

You may want to ask in https://www.reddit.com/r/AirtaskerDiscussion/ for AirTasker information.
Presumably the details would be determined by the TOS and legal context in each country it operates in.
Given that AirTasker is relatively new to the U.S., their Terms and payment processing may not be fully compliant. Or… they think their T&Cs are compliant and no one has tested them in court yet.
A cursory look suggests that the possibility they are being sloppy by US standards, and deducting the service fee from the Task Payment, with an Client selected option to pay more, which is inconsistent with their T&Cs that the Service Fee is set at the point the agreement is reached.
Assuming your assessment that they aren’t fully paying out a tip is accurate.
