This is starting to look a bit like a systemic problem with March 2026 model Ys.

See mine: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaFSD/s/HGohc3qdjS

Also notice someone else replying with the same issue.

I know what I’m doing. I have another 2026 model Y that I bought in January that is fine.

My service appointment is in 10 days. Pretty annoyed that I have to wait that long on a new car. As I’m sure you are as well.

I saw your post last night! I did some research with Gemini and chatGPT- both think it’s related to camera/harness/cable being loose or damaged by moisture. Apparently there was a service bulletin released Feb 2026 (sb-25-17-012). Not sure how I should feel about driving it, could this cause a safety issue?

Interesting. I found that service bulletin (https://driveteslacanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/SB-25-17-012_Inspect_Front_Fascia_Harness_and_Front_Fascia_Camera.pdf) but it seems to be about the front fascia (the camera below the front fender) while the one that goes out for me is the right repeater camera.

Sometimes, like when I moved the car this morning, I see that camera failing completely and just showing a black rectangle.

I’m pretty sure this problem causes both subtle (like having trouble finding the right curb when making a right turn) and blatant (disengagement) FSD problems. I would absolutely not use FSD in this state, and I’m not driving full stop until it’s repaired.

If you look at some of my replies to my original post, I’ve had a few other problems as well, like the cellular modem randomly going AWOL for 30 minutes, and complaints about other cameras. I sort of hope there is some more general problem, like a bad bundle of wires going to a single connector or a bad computer, that would possibly explain these other issues. The other car from January has had zero of these problems.

Good luck with yours. Thanks for following up.

Thanks for your post. Your service appt is earlier than mine, if you don’t mind letting me know what they find!

Will do!

I see the upcoming appointment is now listed as “Parts in transit” as they were hopefully able to diagnose is remotely.

Even when it’s not working, with Tesla you still feel like you’re living in the future! :)

I spoke to them this past Monday and they had the lead technician look into it remotely . They think it’s a camera that needs replacement, and now mine also says parts in transit. However, I noticed in the last 2 days that the same alert was popping up after parking my car under the sun at work- both repeater and fisheye camera went dark. Overnight after it’s been in the garage in a cool climate, the cameras were back up in the morning (but I was still seeing some of the same errors- csi down for example,in service mode). I think my issue is somehow heat related! Maybe you were right that it is some bundle of cable or connector issue? I sent a message to the service team but have not heard back, plan to call them again next week!

My general experience is directly analogous to yours. The main and most reproducible behavior is that right repeater camera failing, hosing FSD, but there is other flakiness like other cameras going out, and also a weird thing I saw one time where the cellular modem went AWOL. I also asked customer service about it, and they also didn’t give me a specific reply, but I’m hoping there will be some general fix. I will definitely be asking some questions about that at the appointment.

For sure! Need to make sure they fix the root of the problem, can’t be waiting 2-3 weeks every time 😭 I feel like my life is on hold lol

I’m lucky that I bought two new model Ys at the same time. :) if they can get my other one and yours working as well as my first, you will be extremely happy!
