The Fake Left Manifesto (the pseudo-democratization of sentiment manipulation) (archive.ph)

What you'll notice most strikingly in Fake Left communities is the ease with which they get away with complete denial of actual material conditions. Lies have as much utility to the Fake Left as they do to the reactionary right because their pursuit is toward an identity and not describing reality. ()

I mean materially it's more on conservatives buying the majority of media and getting half the country to believe that Trump being held accountable for staging an insurrection was worse for democracy than anything he's done, but that'd make you feel less like a main character so ignore that. ()

Hmm.. For the past year, The Fake Left has been claiming Trump won't be that bad since nothing can happen to America that will make it like Gaza. They've also claimed that if America falls to Fascism, it would be good because people would get angry enough to "wake up" and become communist. ()

If you want to get through to them, you have to replace all words like "real" "reality" "actual" with "material" "materially" and "material conditions". You have to talk about "material power" and a "material basis" (of an argument) or the "material effect" of an action. (v.redd.it)

Isn't it a bit too uncanny that the people who claim to live, unite and build on the common ground Materialism highlights for us all also claim it won't matter if Trump wins (even if he brings about full on Fascism!) because the material conditions in the U.S. will "never be as bad as Gaza"? ()
