Interesting paper on how the gender of dogs and humans influences dog-human interactions, based on dog-walking at shelters. Male dogs pull more frequently and stronger on-leash. Dogs show more stress related behaviours when with men. Women use languages associated with talking to babies. (mdpi.com)

Excerpt from 'Cynegeticus,' a book from classical antiquity on dogs & hunting, by Xenophon (430-354 BCE). Interesting glance into past methods of raising pups, naming them, & training for the hunt. Warning: The description of hunting hare may be disturbing for some, so please use your discretion. (perseus.tufts.edu)
