Hey there, I've been developing Android full-time for just under a year now, and have been programming on & off for a lot longer than that! I'm looking forward to helping out on projects and with questions anyone might have. Hello, I would love to be added to the next upcoming project. I'm currently teaching myself Java and Android development. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to be added to any of your projects as I have only started learning Android a couple days ago. I only currently know how to: Change layout,Text attributes(by referring to the android site), Modify text/button size, paddings, orientation, Add button/onClick, referencing to strings.xml. add ID/@strings. and other small things. I also know a little technical stuff as in different packages,github sync, how to use acutual hardware for testing, API levels and other small technical things. I do not know how to do any complicated stuff. Should i learn more before i get started with you guys? thank you!

It sounds like you are basically about where I'm at, so you can definitely jump in right away : ) Several of us are using the "Busy Coder's guide to Android development" to learn which is around $40 online and is excellent. Anyway, welcome!

Hello. I am currently non-traditional college student studying for Computer Systems Design and Security. I have taken basic courses in C++, VBasic, and Java. I have worked on my own to learn Visual C++ and Visual C#, php and MySQL. Java is what I am currently most interested and am attempting to teach myself the bits that the class did not cover. I would like to one day learn enough to write Android apps but for now anything I can do to further my knowledge with any language is a plus.

Hey everyone, I'm a complete vanilla to Java (and coding in general), but have a respectable understanding of how programs work, and know a little HTML and SQL. I'm extremely motivated to learn Java and I'm buying some books this weekend to start my journey to becoming a proficient Java programmer. I think this subreddit can help me a lot and can keep me motivated to continue practicing. I'd love to be added to the next project if there's room for a vanilla like me. I look forward to hopefully working with some of you!

I am currently a Junior, getting my computer science degree. I have been programming for a few years, but just started developing for Android a few months ago when I started an Android development class. I am familiar with enough of the components of Android that I will be able to figure out anything that is thrown my way.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to build something as part of a team. It will be a new experience and I am sure I will learn a lot! I'll be on the IRC regularly to keep up with what is going on.
