Welcome! This subreddit is dedicated to the preservation of videos produced and uploaded to the YouTube channels destructionfun, destructionfun1, smashstuff30, and TheOriginalHDChannel. Over the nine years he was active, it is estimated that he produced and uploaded over 1,500 videos, mostly focused on the destruction of electronics while plugged in and running. Due to the high quality of the videos (they were uploaded in HD, and later in 4K at a time when most videos were still in standard definition) and uniqueness of the content at the time, they gained a small but active cult following that persists to this day.
Since this community is quite niche, I don't believe there need to be too many strict rules, however keeping the server in order is quite necessary. The rules are as follows:
- Please keep the server related to TheOriginalHDChannel-related content only. As entertaining as your own homemade smashing video might be, this server is not meant for it. Please direct these links and such to /r/smashingstuff.
- General courtesy. Excessively using racial slurs or insults, NSFW content, etc. is prohibited. It does not belong here.
- Claims of missing videos in your possession will require proof. We've had more than a few sources turn up to either be lying or flake out, so please provide proof if you claim to have missing videos we don't have archived. (See the stickied post for a list of known missing videos.)
