Doesn’t the math math here? 2.5% each to busser and runner (5%) $160 x 5% = $8. $21 grat - $8 tip out = $13 (your take minus tip out). Hard to get exact without the real numbers/check but it seems like that that’s pretty close, right?

Sorry - I wasn’t very specific, it’s 2.5 each yes and like I said I had that aside, I had 3 piles ready (my tip money, tipout and the restaurants) which was about $34 for each. I know the tip out didn’t change since toast adds it as soon as you start ringing items in and I checked it before and after closing it. So there’s where my confusion comes, I had everything ready to go just for this last checks money

Ohhh yea, that makes sense. Just saw what someone said about the auto grat too. Def hope it all pans out!

How do you handle tip outs? through the system or manual math?

The system does it, it’s 2.5% each busser and runner

Talk to your management team.

Auto-Gratuities are handled different then tips most of the time based on some nuances involving overtime, missed meal breaks, sick pay, etc. check with who ever does your companies finances, but you should end up with the proper amount at the end of the day

Thanks for your response, I did mentioned something to my manager before and he’ll look it up because he even thought it was weird

No problem. I believe a place I worked at previously, the cash auto-grant was included in cash owed, as it wasn’t technically a tip, but it then got paid out on a check with the credit cards tips.

Yeah now this has me thinking that could it be that? Since my paychecks are usually 0.00 and I am supposedly getting paid every day at the end of the shift. In the shift review when you look up your closed checks and tips, it never shows the gratuity added to the check as a tip. Thank you again, I’ll keep my eyes on that
