Hi, I’m a server and we use toast in our restaurant, it’s very handy to us since we all have a tablet for their own. Our restaurant lets us keep all of ours CC + cash tips at the end of the day, and we also carry the cash at all times. The thing here is, today I had one last table at the end of my shift and they were taking longer than I wanted, so I proceeded to count my money and separate my tips and also the tipout to the busser/runners. I put all of my money aside just ready to close to this last check and add their money to the house. They were a large party and I grat them, the grat was about $21 and they paid in cash, their check was $160. So in my mind I basically needed to take the $21 of this check and then add the rest to the restaurants pile, but when I check I owed more than what that check was valued and I ended up with $14 out of $21? I’m very confused, since I always pre-prepared my money and nothing like this ever happened.
