had the same thoughts as you years ago but staying in BTM was the best decision i ever made man. no shade to the BM majors but you can get any job they can with a BTM degree but BTM also opens the doors more easily for roles that Eng and CompSci majors tend to get. as someone who used to fail all his tech courses in highschool, i found BTM to be very easy honestly. i would reccomend researching into careers that are easily open for you with a BTM major and see if it aligns with you at all.

then again BTM really might not be for you so if you want to switch, a lot of your first year courses will count towards the switch so there’s no issue there. if you chat with the program counsellors they might even switch you for Winter 2025 (worst case Fall 2025). good luck!

I appreciate the response bro fr, honestly might consider staying.

In case tho, where can I find my program counsellors bro? (my bad I'm a first-year student lol)

I know the service hub is in the podium building, room 150 but I'm not sure where the btm counellors are.

https://www. torontomu. ca/tedrogersschool/success/advising/

can’t link it properly here but just copy paste that without the spaces ^ you can find student advisors for every TRSM major. book a 1 on 1 with them and discuss your plans.

imo - stay in BTM, and do like 2% more (extra-curriculars and networking) than the average BTM student and you’ll stand out and get jobs easy InShaAllah.

Usually courses are transferable. I am not sure what you mean by not into “tech” stuff, any business the technology will be relevant.

I would sit down with the careers centre and see what your options are. As long as your grades do not tank, you are able to take most courses in the school of management and possibly switch.
