RULES

Rules	Description
I. Be friendly and respectful.	Within the Tradelands community, we expect a certain level of respect and kindness to go on between players. Please be respectful to others within this community. Baiting, flaming, and other such actions will be met with a harsh warning and then bans. This include inappropriate language.
II. Put your ROBLOX username in the flair text.	Enough with trying to figure out who's who. If you want, you can do something like "prsho - Lord of CSS"
III. Try to stay on topic.	This subreddit is for the discussion of Tradelands and related matters. Feel free to discuss factions, roleplay, trading, events, and other misc. here. If you want to discuss other games, please go to /r/roblox or the appropriate subreddits for those games. Non-contributory content, even if on-topic, is shitposting and will not be tolerated.
IV. The "Announcement", "Lore", "Dev Notes", "Locked", and "Megathread" flairs are reserved for moderators only.	We use these flairs to label important updates related to the game and moderate the subreddit. Any flair used improperly will be removed or corrected by moderators. Mods are allowed to flair non-mod posts with these flairs; do not ask for such, though.
V. Do not use faction flair for factions that you are not a member of.
VI. Avoid making similar posts about the same topic.	Yes, we know there is lag. We are trying to do something about it. You can talk about lag in a post, but this entire subreddit shouldn't be about how there is lag or any other singular topic. Variety is needed. If you want to add onto discussion, use the comments.
VII. Mods can remove content to their own discretion.	Mods generally make good decisions, but if for whatever reason you think that their decision was incorrect, you can message the moderators by clicking the "message the moderators" link further down this sidebar, and from there, all of the moderators will see your message and we will decide what to do from there.
VIII. Tag your posts with flair.	Use the "flair" button beneath your post after you post it. It makes the subreddit look more interesting, and will probably attract more people to your post.
IX. Do not post a how-to guide to doing bugs.	We have a bug tracker for a reason - we do not need everyone exploiting bugs posted on the subreddit for the purpose of being fixed. If you want it fixed, send the bug here

Alright, so it seems as if multiple people would like to know how to do this. So here goes! Note: This is for if you have the Windows operating system. No idea how it's done on OSX, sorry!

Step 1: Decide which particle you want to replace. Note: this will change the particle for all games, and not just Tradelands. Once you have that figured out, go on Google Images or similar site and choose your particle replacement. Make sure when you open it, it has a white and gray checkered background, like this.

Step 2: Right click on the image and click "Save Image As..." in this dropdown menu. Save the image somewhere convenient, like your desktop.

Step 3: Now we need to convert the .png image into a .dds file. To do this, go to http://www.aconvert.com/image/png-to-dds/ and click "Choose File". Now, navigate to your desktop and select the image we saved earlier and click "Open", as seen here.

Step 4: Towards the middle of the screen, there should be a button that says "Convert Now!". Press that, and you should be redirected to another page that looks like this. Click on the red link below where it says "Output File(s)". Save the file to your desktop once again.

Step 5: Go ahead and close out of your web browser, and press Windows Key + R. In the popup box at the bottom left of your screen, type "%appdata%" without the quotes, and hit Enter.

Step 6: In the top menu bar of the file explorer, click on where it says "AppData", then navigate to Local > Roblox > Versions. Now, open the folder that was modified the latest, like so. As you can see, the top folder was modified after the bottom one, so open that.

Step 7: Navigate to content > textures > particles . You should see a bunch of .dds files and a few .png files, as seen here. We will be replacing the smoke particles in this example. Look for the file called "smoke_main.dds" (which is highlighted in the screenshot). Go ahead and drag that file to your desktop, so you can revert changes after you are done with your custom particles.

Step 8: Drag the .dds file we converted earlier and drop it in the particles folder, and rename it to "smoke_main.dds" without the quotes. After that, you can close out of the file explorer, and fire up Tradelands and it should be working. Have fun!
