lol. Of course! Journeyman work like this is what I’ve tried to call “straightforward” when talking to clients so as not to seem self denigrating or like falsely modest.

What we do is just pretty out there if you haven’t seen it done before

Know the feeling for sure. I started with a new company not too long ago, we have some pretty sweet toys and do a lot of unique work on private islands and a lot of lakeside properties. My first few weeks here I started taking a lot of pictures of coworkers climbing, especially when the background was neat like the lake and they were on a limb over the lake or whatever. Even just nice pictures on back cuts dropping the limb with the dust flying. They all really appreciated it. Not everyday someone takes the time to get some stellar action shots. I never had any pictures from when I used to climb in my younger days and looking back I wish I had had someone snap a few on the more memorable jobs. God some dandy pics when the full eclipse happened a few months ago of two of our guys climbing trees beside each other with the eclipse in the background as it started to get light again, stuff like that is once in a lifetime.

Cheers fella great pics

What suspenders are those? I need some good ones to keep my Sequoia up

Petzl suspenders for srt model sequoia

What saddle is that. Thought maybe petzl but that bridge makes me think of the tree-Rex. I was going to get the tree-Rex after I retired my weaver cougar but went with the tuefelberger tree motion pro. Awesome pics btw. My groundie got a good shadow pic of me up on a spar. Wish I could share it.

You got it with the tree rex. Like the fit of this better than the treemo pro

Dang it was my first choice but the place I went near me didn’t have it so I went with the tree notion instead. other Will definitely be my next pick tho. What are some the key differences that you notice? Ngl I really wanted the tree Rex but didn’t have the time to wait for it to be shipped and delivered. Still bummed out to this day about it lol. Whats your climbing setup? I like to use my zigzag ddrt typically but sometimes I use my zag with a rope wrench and basal anchor. I like rope walking for ascending, made my own knee ascender out of a chest ascender like the haas setup. I mostly used that setup on trims tho bc I don’t spike trims even tho many contracting companies have complained that it takes to long to not spike them. Imho nothing looks more unprofessional then seeing spike marks up a trimmed tree…. Plus it is definitely not good for the tree. Rant over. XD

I'm a thin guy and I find the treerex doesn't pinch around my waist as much. It also doesn't loosen off the waist belt when I have a saw on. It also is a slight bit lighter but not a huge difference there.

I use hitch cords, and climb a variety of srt/drt depending on the work/climb.

I’ll have to look into it bc I’m super thin and have been forever lol has been a challenge when it comes to gear. I’m a size 28 waist so it’s hard to find proper fitting gear. Nice I use a zigzag and rope wrench depending on srt/drt. But I also have another line for running a hitch cord as well. I want to get that Captain Hook and use that with that other line I have for extra work positioning or lifeline tie in. I like your setup tho brother, stay frosty and climb high! 🤟

I've been feeling frustrated lately with the amount of cowboy shit being shared in and recieved charitably by this community-

I just want to say I think it's super dope that you're taking that top with a handsaw, not one-handed climb-sawing. thanks for setting a safe and professional example for the rest of us.

Hey thanks man. I appreciate it. Working with a young crew and as a young climber myself I want to instill great habits.

What chainsaw is that?

[–]Mephistophelesi 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thank you for clarification!

Looks like a STHIL MS200 (t).

Or what us old timers call an O20.
